Sam Sparro's album review.

Ok, it's been a while since I reviewed an album (Ok, do not count Hard Candy) and I think I'll keep doing it, I just love it. lol.

Anyway, I discovered this relatively new artist thanks to the lovely Tony from Lucky Star Music. I felt attracted to his music just by the cover of his album, lol.

Well, is the australian singer Sam Sparro whom a self-tittle album is bringing the electronic bits back on 2008. Thank God! His music is a mixture of Daft Punk, Calvin Harris, Mylo and of course, his uniqueness. This album will somehow take you back to the 80s, it has many influences from that era as well.

It's a very entertaining album, with great lyrics (some of them are just fun), great musical arrangements and it's quite mistifying the fact that you just cannot classify it as "dance" or "pop" or "R&B"... It would only fit in the "Electronica" label.

Sorry for not making a track-by-track review, but I only do this with a Minogue or a Ciccone, lol.
However, I have to say that this album has many "stages": it has very upbeat tracks (dancey as well) and some other more soft and serious. You will definitely have to pay attention to each track, all of them have their own vibe.

Overall, it's a great album for all electronica/pop/dance/alternative lovers, which won't let you down at all and I would recommend it to everyone. Sam's a great artist, with a lot of talent and I can foresee a very successful career for him. And a plus: He's uber hot. lol.
